U.S.A., Washington, Washington before Boston Medal, (The Revolutionary War Medal), by Pierre Simon Du Vivier, AE 67, 1776, obv. Washington head to right, rev. Washington and staff on horseback, watching the British evacuation of Boston and the entrance of the American forces, the so-called 'second restrike', from a late die state issued c.1890-1900 with diebreaks on the reverse above HO and in the exergue through REC, not inscribed on edge, (Baker 48, Julian MI-1). Bronzed finish with deep brown patina, extremely fine.
