MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 18, (5.480 grams), Macedonian mint, issued c.336-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. below bowcase a dolphin to left, club above **ALEXANDRO[U]* between, bow and bowcase below, (cf.S.6739, Price 323, BMC 323, SNG Cop. 1057). Attractive dark green patination, very fine/nearly extremely fine a rare symbol.
