MACEDON, Thessalonika (158-149 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.418 grams), obv. Macedonian shield, at centre of which is a bust of Artemis Tauropolos to right with bow and quiver at her shoulder, rev. **MAKEDONWN DEUTEPAS* in two lines, club between, a monogram above of MTK, all within oak-wreath, to left of which is placed a thunderbolt, (S.1462, cf.BMC 9 [p.8], SNG Cop. -, SNG Ash. -, AMNG 185 [Pl.II,4]). Over 4 grams of silver has been clipped from this coin, otherwise nearly very fine.
