THRACE, Odessus, Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), AE 20, (4.396 grams), obv. Caracalla bust to right draped and cuirassed, around M AV P AN T**W*NINOC C, rev. Apollo seated to left with lustral branch and lyre resting on seat, around O**DH*CC EIT**W*N, (S.-, BMC 12 [P.138]). Some obverse corrosion in field and on neck, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.

Ex Lord Grantley Collection with ticket (from A.H. Baldwin & Sons) and from Cornelius C. Vermeule III Collection, sold in Triton III (lot 1662 part) for the benefit of the Classical Department of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
