SICILY, Syracuse, (c.450-439 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.620 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning the charioteer, rev. **SUP A K OSI O N around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair in sakkos, wearing hook and pendant ear-ring and necklace, four dolphins around, (cf.S.933 [£1000], Boehringer 706 variant [cf.obv.346/rev.480 same reverse die], Pozzi 595 [same reverse die]). Attractive evenly toned, very fine and a very rare combination of dies, previously unpublished.

Boehringer does not have this obverse die but the reverse die noted in combination with other dies for several examples.
