VOLUSIAN, (A.D. 251-253), silver antoninianus (struck as Augustus), (3.584 grams), obv.IMP C AVG VIB VOLVSIANO AVG radiate draped bust right, rev. PIETAS AVGG Pietas standing left altar at feet (cf.S.2826, cf.RIC 182, cf.RSC.88). Very fine and very rare variety.

Ex Richard A. Williams Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 45B (lot 1949). This obverse inscription is unrecorded for any coins of Volusian in RIC or Sear.
