PHILIP II, (A.D. 244-249), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.480 grams), issued 244-7, obv. bare headed draped bust to right, around M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, rev. Philip II in military dress standing right with globe and transverse spear, around PRINCIPI IVVENT, (S.2649 [£1000], RIC 216b, RSC 53). Light tone, good very fine and very rare.
