GORDIAN II, (A.D. March-April 238), AE sestertius, (23.42 grams), Rome mint, obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian II, draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG, rev. Roma seated to left, holding Victory and leaning on sceptre, around ROMAE AETERNAE, S C in exergue, (S.2390, RIC 5, C.9, BMC 23). Good very fine and very rare.
