EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.162 grams), Alexandria mint, obv. head of Ptolemy I to right wearing aegis, **D* behind, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front **S* monogram, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, (cf.S.7771, Sv.548, BMC 24, cf.SNG Cop 106 [gold]). Toned, bankers mark in obverse field, and scratches on the reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
