IONIA, Teos, (520-510 B.C.), silver didrachm, (11.968 grams), obv. Griffin seated to right with raised foreleg, NV between legs, rev. incuse square of rough form, (cf.S.3512, Balcer [SNR 1968, Vol.47], Group II No.8 obv. die A8, rev. die P11, Boston Brett 1936). Good very fine and very rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 60 (lot 1883), previously from the Teos hoard c.1980 and Spink Noble Sale 38 (lot 1596).
