THESSALY, Cretan Mercenaries, (Rhodes), (175-170 B.C.), silver drachm, (2.562 grams), obv. Helios facing head slightly to right, rev. rose, club to left, **I W* across field, above Magistrate name **ERMIAS*, (cf.S.5050, Price 'The Larissa 1968 hoard' (Kraay-Morkholm Essays, pp.241-2) Nos.247-1075 [inlcudes this coin], SNG Finland [Keckmann 793-5]). Attractive and as struck, uncirculated, very scarce.

Ex Larissa 1968 Hoard (found Sitochoro, north-east of Pharsala) and acquired from Antiquarius, New Zealand, April 1984.
