MACEDON, Pella, Tranquillina, wife of Gordian III, (c.A.D. 241-244), AE 25, (9.900 grams), obv. diademed and draped bust of Tranquillina to right, around SABINIA TRANQVIL[LINA AVG, rev. COL IVL AVG PELLA, Pan seated to left on rock, a syrinx before him, (S.-, cf.SNG Cop. 282, 285, 288 for reverse type, apparently unpublished for Tranquillina). Fine and very rare.
