THRACE, Byzantion, (c.340-320 B.C.), silver half siglos (Persian standard), (2.23 grams), obv. bull standing to left on dolphin, **PU*, above, rev. quadripartite incuse square of 'mill-sail' pattern, the surfaces granulated, (cf.S.1582, SNG BMC Black Sea 36-41 (fifth stater), SNG von Post 58 (hemidrachm), SNG Stancomb 2). Nearly very fine and scarce.
