ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver stater, (7.56 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, lion head behind, rev. ear of corn, to right [M]ETA, to left club erect over leaf, [AM]I below, (S.415, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class B.2.31, SNG Ash.728). Nearly very fine, scarce.
