ITALY, Campania, Hyria, (c.400-395 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (6.858 grams), obv. head of crested helmeted Athena to left, with owl and wreath on helmet, rev. man-headed bull to left, above YDINAI, (cf.S.294 [£200], Rutter Group 8, No. 92 [obv. die 37, rev. die 82], SNG ANS 264 [same dies], SNG Cop. 370 [same dies]). Good fine/fine, very rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 59 (lot 1772). Rutter in his 1979 exhaustive study of this mint knew of only 414 examples of this mint in all of the public and the published private collections. Almost all examples known from this mint are worn coins. Only four examples are known from this die combination and two of these are indicated above.
