VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), gold aureus, Rome mint, issued A.D. 69-71, (6.896 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Pax seated to left, holding branch and sceptre, PAX AVGVST around, (cf.S.2253, RIC 18, C.319). Dark brown patina, fine and scarce.
