The Ancient coins as Part 1, 3, 5, 7 of the greatest collection of coins ever sold. Virgil Brand (1861-1926) created the largest collection ever formed. Its disposal has taken nearly half a century. Upon his death the collection was divided between two brothers and these sales in the early 1980's represent those that Armin Brand gave to his daughter, a more detailed account is presented in Part 1 of the above sales. Theses sales were the major sales in the early 1980's and Sotheby's presented them like the Hunt sales of the early 1990's.
