ITALY, Bruttium, Kroton, (c.425-350 B.C.), silver triobol, 12mm, (1.15 g), obv. QPO to left upwards, tripod with a grain ear to right, rev. Octopus, (S.-, Attianese 80. HN Italy 2154. SNG ANS 414). Well struck on a full flan, slightly rough surfaces, otherwise, extremely fine, rare.

Ex Brian Bolton Collection and previously from Nomos, Obolos 3, November 2015 (lot 58), previously coming from a Swiss collection formed prior to 2005, and privately purchased from Munzen & Medaillen AG Basel.
