(EDWARD VIII), Royal Mint London pattern florin, 1937, the obverse tooled out at the mint owing to the abdication, milled edge (10.97g). Dark toned and brilliant, nearly FDC and extremely rare.

Ex G.C.Heyde Collection, part III (lot 355) and Spink Australia Sale 24 (lot 1161). Presented to G.C.Heyde at the Royal Mint in 1954 by H.G.Stride.
