SOUTH AFRICA, Cape Town, Fredk R. Lovegrove and Co., token for one copy Evening Express (ie. 1/2d) farthing size in bronze, edge milled. Another with almost no edge milling light brown colour (illus) another more similar pair, one damaged (T.C6 M.161). Nearly very fine - nearly extremely fine and scarce (4).
Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Sale 61B (lot 1563) and previously the first ex R.J.Ford Collection (lot 910 part), the third ex D&W Sale 29 May 1996 (lot 378 part), the last ex Spink Sale 96 (lot 363 part), the second ex G.Patterson Collection in 1977.
