SOUTH AFRICA, Cape Colony, J.H.Cartwright, set of zinc tokens 20/-, 10/-, 2/6, 1/- and 6d (Theron C1)(M.9-14). Better than average set as most known survived a flood and were discovered in 1950. Fine to very fine and rare (5).

Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Sale 61B (lot 1557) and R.J.Ford Collection (lot 910 part in Spink Australia Sale). These tokens were issued 1898 - 1912 only between Saldanha Bay and George and Knysna.
