CHINA, Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty (1644-1911), Tai Ping Rebel coinage, rebel ruler Li Wenmao, "Ping Jing sheng bao" (Restorer of Peace), as obverse with four characters, rev. "Qiang ying" (front camp) two characters, round cash with square hole, issued 1857-1858, diameter 27mm, (Hartill 23.48, TFP 2692). Very fine and very rare.

Li Wenmao was the leader of the Guangdong Triad Society, rose in March 1857 and occupied Liuzhou in Guangxi. He was defeated the following year.
