CHINA, Hsin Dynasty, Wang Mang Interregnum, (c.A.D. 7-22), "Chuang Ch'uan ssu Shih", round cash with square hole, four characters on one side, value 40, diameter 23mms, (Hartill 9.18, Sch.142b, Coole 9793 Vol.7 p.150, TFP 465, Pl.53). Some dirt and green encrustation, otherwise very fine and rare.
