Elizabeth Bligh, daughter of William Bligh and Elizabeth Bligh nee Betham, died at sea on board the 'Magdalena' within sight of England (note her handwritten inscription in her prayer book of the same date). The reference by her to Fanny Anne is in respect to her daughter Francis Anne, born on 9 September 1820. Elizabeth resided for a time at Warialda, NSW. This is a rare group of books associated with the family of Captain William Bligh and have passed by direct descent to the current owners. See also lots 769 and 3880-2.
