BELT BUCKLE FACING, late 1800s, in bronze (50mm x 73mm), features Indian royal couple on throne with subjects in front, globe behind and with sporting apparatus at each side including fencing swords, cricket bats and ball, oars, paddles and quiver, at the sides, 'We Are United / In Athletic Sports'. Lugs missing from reverse, very fine and a scarce early cricket related item.

Recovered using a metal detector at the site of a hotel at Narrandera in N.S.W. that was demolished in the late 1800s.
