CHINA, Tang Dynasty, (A.D. 618-907), 'Kai Yuan Tung bao', round lead cash with square hole, four characters around, diameter 39mms, (29.19 grams), rev, 'Run' (a region in Jiangsu) and crescent, (cf.Sch.393, cf.TFP 725, cf.Hartill 14.81). Very fine, with white lead oxide hoard patina, very scarce.
