William Henry Carpenter, 1st Bn 24th Foot, enlisted at Newport, Monmouthshire 5Nov1874, age 19 yrs. Killed in action 22Jan1879 at the Battle of Isandhlwana. Together with research copies of Public Records Office verification, pamphlets, booklets, photographs modern, of the battlefield, memorial.
