Estimate $70,000
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $64,000

NEW SOUTH WALES, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, struck from a Charles III Mexico City Mint eight reales 1797 FM (Mira-Noble 1797/- unlisted, dies B/10:II/9.30). Countermarks clear both sides with sharp H for Henshall on the obverse, nearly very fine, the coin overall good fine and rare.

A previously unrecorded example. Acquired recently on the north western coast of the U.S.A. in a small group of silver coins suggesting the coin could be a remainder from an old seafarer's accumulation.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
