Estimate $80
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $90

MADRAS PRESIDENCY, copper dudu or ten cash, obv. balemark, rev. date between wavy lines within dotted circle, First issue, 1705, Second issue 1777, (Pr. 26, 52, KM. 291, 306). Very good; very fine, both rare. (2)

Both issues have been reported by Pridmore as being noted to exist by Atkins (No.71 and 90), but were unable to be verified by him. The 1705 last number is fairly certain because of its characteristics, the other has 77 of last two date numbers very clear. These two specimens confirm these two dates.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
