WILLIAM AND MARY, five guineas, 1692, QVINTO edge, (S.3422 variant). Trace of mount mark on edge, otherwise good very fine and extremely rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 64 (lot 1193). The edge reading QVINTO was only known for 1693 and appeared unpublished for 1692, this variety was missing from both Seaby and Coincraft catalogues and had not been noted in the usual sale catalogues. The discovery of this piece in 2000 prompted its listing and publishing in the Spink English Coins catalogue (S.3422) where it is currently unpriced and noted as extremely rare.
