BROACH, as an East India Company issue, silver rupee, year 5, another year 32, A.H. dates off flan, with cross crosslet mint mark also off flan, (KM. C.36), silver half rupee withou year date, with distinctive cross crosslet mint mark, (KM. C.A36). Very fine, the rupee year dates unpublished. (3)

Ex Stan Goron Collection with his tickets, and from Robert Senior by private treaty. $$ Located 30 miles up the Namada river from the gulf of Cambay, gave it much importance as a sea route to Europe. A brief control by the British in 1772-1783 and then it came under Gwalior control but was returned to the British East India Company in 1803.
