UMAYYAD CALIPHATE, al-Walid II, (A.H. 125-126) (A.D. 724-725), silver anonymous dirham, Wasit mint (on Euphrates river), A.H. 126 = A.D. 725, (A.138, cf.M.61) Nearly very fine and rare.

The issue for this ruler can only be definitely attributed to this caliph from this mint in 126 when it has 5 annulets in the margin. A similar specimen sold in Sale 45 (lot 3986)
