VALENS, (A.D. 364-378), silver miliarense, issued 367-375, Treveri mint, obv. D N VALEN S P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right, rev. VIRTVS EXERCITVS around, SMTR in exergue, Emperor standing facing, head to left, holding standard, and resting hand on shield, (cf.S.4130, RIC 26b, C.71). Cracked edge, some porosity, otherwise fine and rare.
