BALBINUS, (A.D. 238), silver denarius, issued A.D. 238, Rome mint, obv. laureate bust to right of Balbinus, around IMP C D CAEL BALBINVS AVG, rev. Providence standing to left, globe at feet, holding cornucopiae and sceptre, around PROVIDENTIA DEORVM, (S.2398, RIC 7, C.23). Slightly chipped flan, partially off centre but with a bold portrait, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
