AUREUS ROME MINT (STRUCK 46-47 A.D.) Obv. Laureate head right Rev. SPQR/PP/OBCS in three lines in oak leaf wreath (RIC 40;Sear -). Some surface pin pricks, good very fine and a very attractive portrait.

The reverse type alludes to the Senate's acceptance of the emperor chosen by the praetorians.
