MC C.G. 19 April 1917: For conspicious gallantry during operations. He commanded a machine gun section with great skill and determination, and, through his section suffered somewhat heavily, he maintained his position throughout. He also saved a Medical Officer and his orderly, who were burried and helpless.' Together with: Advice to mother of award, invitation to investiture.
