CRIMEA MEDAL 1854 - ONE BAR - SEBASTOPOL, Turkish Crimea Medal. Asst Surgn. C.J. White 3rd Dragoon GDS. Engraved. Alight obverse surface scratches on first medal, otherwise toned very fine. Both with ribbon buckles.

Extract from Hart's Army list 1873 'Surgeon Charles John White served in the Eastern Campaign of 1854-55; including the taking of Kertch and Yenkali, seige and fall of Sebastopol, bombardmnent and the fall of the Forts of Konbourn (medal and clasp and Turkish medal)' Charles John White: Ass surgeon 3 Dn GDS, 28 Mar 1854; Staff 19 Aug 1862; 12 Lcrs, 2 Sec 1862; Staff Surgn 28 June 1864; 74th Foot, 30 Dec 1864; 1 Dn GDS, 9 Mar 1867; A.M.D. Surgn Major, 28 June 1865; Retired on half pay 13 Sept 1876; Born at Woodford Essex 7 Sept 1832. Died 29 Jan 1879.
