SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 200-201, (3.39 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, rev. around VIRT AVGG, Virtus standing half left holding Victory and spear reversed, (S.-, RIC 171a, BMC 211, C.761). Slightly off centre, otherwise extremely fine.
