ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE sestertius, (23.40 grams), Rome mint, issued A.D. 140-144, obv. laureate bust of Antoninus Pius to right draped and cuirassed, around ANTONINVS AVG PI VS P P TR P COS III, rev. ANNO NA AVG, S C across field, Annona standing to right, holding corn ears and cornucopiae, modius and corn ears, prow of ship to right, (S.1251, RIC 597b, C.37). Field surface scratches, otherwise nearly very fine.
