CALIGULA, (A.D. 37-41), AE quadrans, Rome mint, issued A.D. 40-41, (3.32 grams), obv. pileus between S C, around C CAESAR DIVI AVG PRON AVG, rev. R C C in centre, around PON M TR P IIII P P COS TERT, (cf.S.617, RIC 52, BMC 64). Attractive light brown patina, very fine and scarce in this condition.
