ANTONIA, daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia, grandmother of Caligula, mother of Claudius, (died A.D. 37), AE dupondius, issued after her death by Claudius 41-50, Rome mint, (12.6 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Antonia, around [ANTON]IA AVGVSTA, rev. Claudius, standing to left, holding simpulum, around TI CLAVD[IVS CAESAR AVG] P M TR P IMP, S C across field, (cf.S.596, BMC 166, RIC 92). Portrait nearly fine, weak in places, very good and scarce.
