THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (5.73 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **UESSA LWN, above across **[NU]SS ANDR[OU], below across, **FEREKRATHS, (cf.S.2232, BMC 19 [p.2], SNG Cop. 287). Lustrous, very attractive with full flan, well centred, extremely fine and very desireable.
