THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.04 grams), Byzantium mint, issued 190-110 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, on throne BY, to left in field monogram **DIY, to left **BASILEWS to right **LUSIMACOU, trident in exergue, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, Muller 189). Superb portrait, porosity and corrosion on left surface of reverse, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.
