MACEDON, Provincial coinage, struck during reign of Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), AE 25, (12.88 grams), obv. diademed head of Alexander the Great to right, with flowing hair, around **ALEXANDPOY, dotted border, rev. table with two prize crowns, around KOINON **MAKEDONWN B NEWKOR, (S.-, cf.Gabler 686, SNG Cop. 1367). Green patina, attractive good very fine and scarce.
