ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.320-290 B.C.), silver stater, (7.86 grams), obv. head of Demeter to right, EY below chin, rev. corn ear, META to left, star above stalk to right, and **[L]U partially off flan to left of corn ear, (cf.S.416, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class C, 8.13 same dies, Naville 12 18/10/1926 No.427 same dies). Off centred on the obverse, otherwise good fine and rare.
