ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.58 grams), obv. head of female to right, the hair is held bound by fillet, rev. corn ear, **[M]ETAP[ON] to left, stalk to right, palmette above stalk, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 486, SNG ANS 367 [same dies]). Nearly very fine and very scarce.
