ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.55 grams), obv. head of female to left, the hair bound by a wide fillet, giving effect of a spendone, poppyhead to right, rev. corn ear, ME T to left, stalk to right, above it an owl, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 469, SNG ANS 355 [same dies]). Fine/good fine and rare.
