ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.60 grams), obv. head of Dionysus to left, the hair falling in tresses, wearing broad diadem with meander pattern and a row of ivy leaves, rev. **METAP to left, stalk to right, (cf.S.411, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 453, SNG ANS 344, [same dies], SNG Cop. 1196 [same dies]). Good fine/fine and scarce.
