HERACLIUS, (610-641), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 626-629, (4.38 grams), obv. facing busts of Heraclius and larger than usual bust of Heraclius Constantine, wearing chlamys and crown, around dN N]N hERACLIVS ET hERA CONSt PP A, rev. cross potent on base and three steps, below CONOB, around VICTORIA AVGU**Y, (S.743, cf.DOC.20h, BMC -, T.-). Slightly double struck on the obverse legend, full original mint bloom, good extremely fine.

The officina theta is unlisted in all the major collections, but is noted by Sear.
