FRANCE, Louis XII, (1498-1514), Ecu d'or au porc-epic, struck 19 November 1507, obv. arms of France crowned, flanked by two porcupines, around LVDOVICVS DEI GRATIA FRACORVM REX, rev. floriated cross, in two angles L and two angles a porcupine, (Ciani 909, Duplessy 655, Fr.325). Some evidence of double striking and impression of reverse incuse on obverse, otherwise very fine, scarce.
